Growing up Online

There is a pretty sobering PSB Frontline about children growing up online. You can watch the full program at their website. It really rang true after watching Elder Bednar's CES Fireside on the same topic (also available online).

Who'd of thought we could have Church programs on YouTube, or be able to listen to Church radio on line? Or that I could access them from a laptop while sitting in my favorite chair? Amazing.

I'm glad you mentioned this. The Bednar talk was powerful. It was the subject of our bishopric's 5th Sunday message as directed by the stake, and everyone was asked to listen to it, with an added emphasis for those who work with youth and young adults. Sobering, to say the least. I don't think most people would recognize the connection (or more pointedly, the disconnection) as relates to The Plan without his clarification.

Thanks for the links. You are a great example of how the internet can be used for good.

It's amazing how often we succumb to an alternate reality--lost in a good book or movie, daydreaming. Not that it's all bad--we can learn from these things. Just so we build a real foundation for those "castles in the air."
